Rehearsals
We currently rehearse at The Blackwood Miner’s Institute every Thursday from 7pm to 9pm. Our rehearsals usually entail some singing, acting workshops and choreography.
Age Requirement
You must be over 16 to join the society, unless a parent/guardian is also a member.
Level of Skill/Experience Requirement
There is absolutely no minimum skill or experience required and no auditions to join our society. As long as you are passionate about theatre and eager to learn, we would love for you to join us!
Membership Fee
Every penny of your membership fee would be spent on the society. Whether that be for music, costumes, set design, lighting, sound, venue hire and all the other admin that comes with running a society such as promotion. We are very proud to be one of the cheapest musical theatre society in the area at only £300 per year. This can be paid in installments of £25 per month, but the full fee must be paid by the end of the year regardless of your attendence record.
Trial Period
We are happy for you to trial our society before deciding whether we are a good fit for you or not. There is no pressure to join, so come along for free to see what you think!
Performing Requirements
If you would like to get involved with the society but don’t want to perform in concerts, please still reach out to us, there is plenty of behind the scenes roles that need filling too!
